Clean, Efficient and Environmentally Friendly...

It took almost a year, but here it it. These are the solar modules which are the most visible part of our 11 kilowatt solar power project. It was made possible thanks to a great rebate program offered by the State of New Jersey. This program provides funding for up to 70% of the cost of installing renewable energy systems. The rebate program is further supplemented by a net metering law that compels the utilities to reduce your electric bill based on the power you produce. This system should provide 100% of the energy requirements of our home. I've tried to document the progress and show a little about what is involved with installing a photovoltaic solar power system.

Our system was purchased from Solara Energy and was installed by RCL Enterprises in Alloway.

Here are the pollutants prevented annually as a result of our installation.

• Prevents 25,978 pounds of carbon dioxide pollution
• Prevents 71.3 pounds of sulfur dioxide pollution
• Prevents 48.7 pounds of nitrous oxide pollution
